Denniz continued working until a few months before his death. Furthermore, during their Jshow in Munich, Germany, the group dedicated Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely to Denniz and told the crowd to think of him. The music video for Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely was dedicated to Denniz, and the destination on the bus in the video is Denniz St. Tributes poured in from the artists he worked with, and regular people in Sweden. Unfortunately this would be his last album for the group in December 1997, Denniz discovered he had stomach cancer, and despite surgery to remove it and months of good health, Denniz suddenly started getting worse in July 1998 and died on August 30th, 1998. In 1997, Denniz once again writes and produces songs for the Backstreet Boys for their sophomoric album, like the lead single Everybody (Backstreet's Back). After the success of the Backstreet Boys, even more artists start using Cheiron and Denniz's services, such as fellow boy bands *NSYNC and 5ive. The group continue to use Cheiron's services until its closure in 2000. Besides writing songs for the album, Denniz, Martin and Kristan Lundin (another member of the Cheiron team) also produce many songs on the album like We've Got It Goin' On and I Wanna Be With You, and record vocals at their facilities. In 1995, Zomba Records sends the Backstreet Boys to Cheiron Studios to record songs for their debut album. The Backstreet Boys with Denniz and Max Martin. Max and Denniz start working together on songs, including a group called Ace of Base, which becomes a success not only in Sweden, but the rest of the world as well. It's Alive doesn't go anywhere, but Denniz develops a strong working relationship with lead vocalist Max Martin. At first, Cheiron was also a record label, and one of the artists Cheriron has is a funk metal band called It's Alive. "Hello Afrika" becomes a hit, and Denniz decides to found Cheiron Studios with Tom Talomaa in 1992 and leaves SweMix. Denniz began writing songs while at SweMix, his first being "Hello Afrika" in 1989. In 1986, Denniz, René Hedemyr, StoneBridge, Emil Hellman, BWO, Rob Below and JJ founded SweMix, and quickly became one of the most desired remixers in Sweden. In 1985, he and some of the best DJs in Stockholm came up with the idea of a remix service akin to groups like Disco Mix Club in the UK and Hot Tracks in the US. He also inspired many people in the area to take up DJ'ing. Denniz, known as Dagge to friends in Stockholm, started DJ'ing at the age of 15 at a rec center in Tullinge, and quickly became one of the most popular DJs in the Stockholm area. He co-founded Cheiron Studios, where many Backstreet Boys songs were recorded, and wrote and produced many of their songs, like Everybody (Backstreet's Back) and We've Got It Goin' On.ĭenniz PoP was born in Tullinge, Sweden on April 26th, 1963 to Jarl Gregar Volle and Anna Volle. Dag Krister Volle (ApAugust 30, 1998), better known as Denniz PoP, was a Swedish DJ, music producer, and songwriter.
